DesignaKnit 7 (Standard) is a powerful CAD/CAM program for designing knitwear and stitch patterns. The program includes: Standard Garment Styler A versatile pattern drafting tool to create and alter garments from a range of standard shapes, the facility to edit any or all of the body measurements and ease, as well as a database to record a list of customized size data. Stitch Designer For Designing coloured and/or textured stitch patterns proportional to any given stitch tension. Stitch patterns can then be integrated with garment pieces for accurate placing of patterns. There are a number of error checking mechanisms for eliminating jacquard separation errors, overlong floats, etc. If the program is linked via the appropiate cable, the patterns can be downloaded to an electronic knitting machine. Graphic Design Studio This is a sophisticated utility allowing fine control over the conversion of graphics files and scanned images into stitch patterns. Stitch patterns created in Designa Knit can be output to other graphic formats for presentation or communication of ideas. Printouts A variety of options for stitch patterns and garment pieces, full sized or to scale, in colour or as symbol charts, as well as templates for punchcard knitting machines. Interactive Knitting If linked to an electronic knitting machine, or via a screen link cable to a punchard machine, the knitter can follow row by row instructions for shaping and colour changing.
